What we do

Spirit in Nature encourages dialogue leading to action for the betterment of the environment. Annual Eco-Spirit Award honors outstanding persons who are making a difference to the environment.

Activities encourage creative expression linking faith and nature. Guided Walks are offered to students and others or the public may explore the paths at their leisure.

The Newsletter previews and reports on SpIN activities and related local, regional, and national issues  and reviews new publications on the environment and spirituality.

Our Mission

Spirit in Nature's mission is to educate the community about the environment through the vehicle of traditional religions, and to promote action based on spiritually-sensitive concerns for the environment.

Our long term goal for Spirit in Nature is to provide a model which can be replicated across North America and elswhere, which will strengthen the response of traditional religious communities to the current environmental crisis.

Ultimately, we hope that dialogues within and among the religious groups will lead to action resulting in significant local changes for the betterment of our environment.
